From September 11 to September 18, 2019, the delegation of the Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dang Hoai Bac, Vice President and Lecturers of the Department of Electronic Engineering 1 worked with Latrobe University, RMIT University and visited Sydney University of Technology (UTS) under the Science and Technology program of the Space Academy program of the Vietnam Academy of Science, accompanied by Mr. Pham Hong Quang, Director of Quang Nam Province’s Department of Information and Communications.
At the meeting with Prof. Kelly Smith, Vice Rector of Latrobe University (in the top 10 universities in Australia) and Prof. Dr. Wendy Rahayu, Principal of Latroe University’s College of Technology and Mathematics, there was the introduction the growth in rankings, scaling, especially the size of Latrobe University’s international students in recent years (from over 20,000 students in 2012 to 40,000 students today). It is known that currently, Latrobe University also has 06 campuses in Asian countries, with 2 training programs in Vietnam with Hanoi University in Business Administration, and Ton Duc Thang University on the program 2 + 2 Master training in the southern region of Vietnam.
Leaders also desired to have cooperation in the field of training from undergraduate to doctorate, mutual recognition of programs in the field of ICT and cooperation on scientific research, short-term training for managers of Vietnam on topics of Industry 4.0, SmartCity, E-Government. Latrobe University wants to sign MoU with PTIT and can grant 02 doctorate scholarships to PTIT in 2020. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dang Hoai Bac thanked Latrobe University for the solemn reception and for supporting the study team as well as made very specific suggestions on cooperation.
During the working days at Latrobe University, the delegation of PTIT and the Department of Information and Communications of Quang Nam Province worked with the School of Technology and Mathematics, the Department of Computer Science under the Technology and Mathematics Department of Latrobe University and the Center for Technology Infusion (CTI) on satellite and space information research fields (included in the national science and technology project under the space program) in case of emergency natural disasters, artificial intelligence, IoT, Smart Agriculture, Smart City …
