On April 5, 2023, in Hanoi, Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology (PTIT) signed the cooperation agreement with MEROS Language School, Japan (MEROS). Attending the ceremony were Mr. Kagawa Yasushi, Director of MEROS Language School, Dr. Vu Tuan Lam – Vice President, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hoang Huu Hanh – Director of the Center for International Education, Dr. Ngo Duc Thien – Head of the Department of Science, Technology Management and International Cooperation, Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong Hue – Vice Head of the Training Department and other PTIT lecturers and staff.  

According to the cooperation agreement, PTIT and MEROS will coordinate to organize seminars about programs related to Japan market and other general activities in Vietnam; organize the long-term and short-term courses according to the actual needs of the two parties; support for introducing and connecting with businesses for Japanese and international students recommended by MEROS to have an opportunity to practice and work after graduation in Vietnam.

Along with that, MEROS will support to provide Japanese language training programs for PTIT according to the Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) standard and support for training advanced Japanese language training during the teaching process; support for PTIT students who wish to study Master’s programs in Japan; connect PTIT students with Japanese businesses after graduation (with a list of specific companies); support the provision of Japanese language teachers to PTIT in Japan-related programs, especially the Japanese-oriented Bachelor of Information Technology.

PTIT’s Vice President, Dr. Vu Tuan Lam highlighted that the agreement would take the two sides’s relationship in the sphere of education to a new level. PTIT also hoped that the cooperation program between two sides would to creating more opportunities for students to be recruited directly into Japanese enterprises.

Mr. Kagawa Yasushi, Director of MEROS shared that with more than 40 years of experiences in training the Japanese language for foreigners to study and work in Japan, MEROS hopes to continue to cooperate with PTIT in order to increase the number of PTIT students following the program of PTIT Sakura Bridge Engineer. MEROS is committed to creating favorable conditions as well as providing necessary skills for PTIT students to study and work in Japan. Mr. Kagawa Yasushi also conveyed the sincere invitation to the PTIT leaders to visit the MEROS Language School.

At the Signing Ceremony, the two sides continued to openly discuss and share plans to implement specific activities within the framework of the Cooperation Agreement and expressed their belief that the signed Cooperation Agreement will create favorable conditions for the implementation of the Vietnam-Japan Bridge Engineer Program have achieved high efficiency and bringing good results to stakeholders.

During the collaboration between the two sides in the past years, PTIT and MEROS have had successful and practical cooperation activities in implementing the programs, notably the PTIT SAKURA Bridge Engineer Program. Up to now, there are 8 PTIT students studying at MEROS in order to master foreing languages and meet the standards for the recruitment of Japan enterprises.
