Review of the cooperative activities between PTIT and NAVER in the first cooperation year

From March 2021 to March 2022, the cooperative activities between PTIT and NAVER (Korea) have been implemented with various efforts and noticeable achievements. To assess the performance and results of the activities cooperated by PTIT and NAVER in the first year of cooperation, a review has been done to screen through the key milestones of the cooperation period and evaluates the implementation and achievements of the activities by 5 criteria of relevance, efficiency, effectiveness, impact and sustainability.

The data collected from the activities conduction and all the stakeholders who participated in the activities demonstrated that, from the perspective of the implementers and participants, cooperative activities of PTIT and NAVER in the first cooperation year have been successfully  implemented as per the plan and the expected outputs and objectives. The activities with supports from NAVER have also produced useful results and created positive changes in training and research capacity of PTIT’s human resources and students.

Key results of the activities include the Renovation and upgrading the PTIT x NAVER AI Center, the development of training materials for 4 subjects of Computer vision, Speech processing, Application of Algorithms and Intelligence artificial, the organisation of the training in AI for almost 300 participants including PTIT students as well as leaders and IT staff from provincial departments of information and communications in 9 provinces, 5 PTIT excellent master/doctoral students awared with NAVER scholarship, 5 start-up projects supported and 5 joint research projects with supports from experts from NAVER Lab in the Europe who also gave lectures to the training courses organised by PTIT. All of the results of the activities are highly appreciated by both sides and all stakeholders of the cooperation program.

From the foundation of the success of the cooperation in the first year between PTIT and NAVER, there have been suggestions on the continuation and expansion of the cooperative program in the coming second year with focus on AI training and research activities, as well as further supports for entrepreneurship and innovation and cultural exchange activities, among many others.
