Remarkable achievements in PTIT-Samsung cooperation program

2021 marks a new stage for the strategic partnership between PTIT and Samsung Vietnam. Although in the context related to the covid pandemic, the cooperation program between PTIT and Samsung Vietnam has achieved many positive results. This program was presented in the framework of  “Samsung Talent Program” (STP) which promotes Samsung’s university-industry partnership to develop high quality human resources in research and development of mobile devices.

On the basis of the successful implementation of the cooperation program for the period of 2018-2020, PTIT has continued to cooperate with Samsung in activities as same as the previous period, mainly in the online form as follows: Organizing 10 training online short-term courses on algorithm application for more than 500 students to improve their programming skills and algorithmic thinking; Supporting IT club activities and automatic programming exam and practice system; Organizing recruitment and communication events…

In addition to the above activities, especially in 2021, Samsung has supported PTIT in the field of entrepreneurship and innovation for students. With the aim of stimulating the entrepreneurial spirit of students, the activity has contributed to creating a favorable environment for the formation and realization of startup ideas and projects, thereby creating jobs for students after  graduation.

The remarkable achievements in PTIT-Samsung cooperation program in the previous period are as the followings:

STP SCHOLARSHIP

• 45 students in IT, telecommunication, multimedia
• 65~113 million VNĐ per student
• Training Advanced Algorithm
• Internship at Samsung R&D Center
• Work for Samsung in 24 months

STP LAB AT PTIT

• 2019: installation of 41 new computers
• 40 seats at the same time at STP Lab for students from undergraduate to PhD candidates
• Software tools installation
• Operation for mobile application research
• R&D Workshops and Co-projects
• Elective courses on Advanced Algorithm

STP CURRICULUM

• Objective: to increase the number of students/applicants who can pass the algorithm test given by Samsung to become Samsung’s engineers.
• Outcomes: ~2000 students complete 43 courses and ~500 excellent students obtain the joint Samsung-PTIT

RECRUITMENT

• ~2-4 Open Day and Recruitment Day per year with thousands of students attended
• ~ 2 times per year Bac Ninh and Thai Nguyen Manufacture Complex Visiting with approx. 100 students /times
