Cao Tuan Nghia, a third-year student in IT of Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology (PTIT) is one of the two excellent candidates to win the highest prize in the third National English Olympic Contest for Students.

The organizing committee of the 3rd English Olympic Contest for Students found winners in two individual groups of university and high school students.

Specifically, in the individual group of university students, the first prize went to Cao Tuan Nghia, a student of the Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology, with a total score of 352/400. Two second prizes of the group belonged to Nguyen Nhat Linh, a student of the People’s Police Academy (315/400 points) and Pham Le Minh, a student of Hanoi Metropolitan University (287/400 points).

In this group, the organizing committee also gave two third prizes and 5 individual consolation prizes. The advocacy awards belong to the delegation of An Giang Province, Hanoi and Thai Nguyen Medical College.

In the group of high school students, Pham Thi My Duyen, a student of Phan Dinh Phung High School (Ha Tinh) won the first prize with a score of 381/400.

Two second prizes went to Nguyen Phuc Nam (High School for Foreign Languages, Hanoi) – 342/400 points and Nguyen Dieu Anh (TH Secondary and High School Hoa Lac, Hanoi) – 337/400 points.

In addition, in this above group, the organizing committee also gave 2 third prizes and 5 consolation prizes. The advocacy awards belong to the delegation of Thai Nguyen Province and Nghe An Province.

Due to the complicated developments of the COVID – 19 epidemic, the national final round of the Third National English Olympic Contest for students was held through 11 online test venues in the provinces and cities across the country.

The awards of the Contest will be transferred to the delegation of provinces, cities and teams so that the awarding for excellent contestants won the prize conduct solemnly and promptly in accordance with the current situation in the prevention and control of the COVID-19 epidemic.

The third “National English Olympic Contest for Students” was organized by the The Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Student Association and the Ministry of Education and Training, the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs with the message of Conquering IELTS test.

This contest continued to be held on a national scale for 2 subjects: high school and university students with 3 rounds: the 1st round was an 8-week-online-test, from October 27 to December 21, 2019 on the website https://OlympicEnglish.vn and Facebook Messenger application https://m.me/olympicta.hssv; The 2nd round was held at the local level and through online answering questions and writing test  from February 15, 2020 – February 16, 2020 and the national final round took place on early March 2020. The test contains 50.000 questions in the form of a simplified IELTS test, with the advice and companionship of many scholars, English experts as well as prestigious teachers.
