On August, 9th, 2016, at Hanoi campus, the Kick-off meeting of project for building university-industry learning and development through innovation and technology (BUILD-IT) was  organized in collaboration between Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology (PTIT), Arizona State University (ASU) and United States Agency for International Development (USAID).

The BUILD-IT project leverages diverse government, industry, and academic partners to link science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) instruction in Vietnamese higher education institutions to the needs and capabilities of industry partners. As the role of the project’s member, PTIT has strengthened the close relationship with industry partners to update the teaching quality by bring hand-on knowledge for students for many years.

At the meeting, Dr. Dang Hoai Bac and Assoc. Prof. Tran Quang Anh, Vice president of PTIT, highly appreciated the innovative model of university – industry collaboration in improving teaching and learning environment. They also emphasized the high commitment of the active cooperation of PTIT to the goal of this capacity building project for Vietnamese universities.

In the framework of the project, the members will participate in activities including:  developing leadership-policy learning programs, facilitate student-industry engagement events and campus-based programs providing female mentors in STEM careers, developing university program assessment and quality assurance, collaborating with industry to develop a network of two Maker Innovation Laboratories, implementing experiential learning curriculum and strenthening industry-university linkages across multiple curriculum platform.

The Project will be implemented from 2015 to 2020.
