On 30 March 2019, the Ministry of Education and Training (MoET) cooperated with the Ministry of Information and Communications (MIC) to organise the roundtable “Developing high quality human resources for ICT: Asociation betwen higher education institutions and enterprises” taken place in the Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology (PTIT).

The roundtable aimed at developing and improving the quality of human resources for information and communication technology (ICT), meeting the country’s socio-economic development requirements in the context of the Industrial Revolution 4.0 and preparing for the implementation of national digital conversion. This is a forum to connect stakeholders including policy-making agencies, human resource training institutions; ICT human resource associations, users and learners aiming at the common goal of developing high quality ICT human resources.

The roundtable program consists of 04 papers, presented by speakers from the Research Group of Vietnam Institute of Educational Sciences; Hanoi University of Science and Technology; Ho Chi Minh City Computer Association and Samsung Vietnam Leader. Then there were two specific discussion sessions on:

* “Solution on policy mechanisms to connect supply and demand in high-level ICT human resources training”, with the participation of speakers from the Research Group of Foreign Trade University, Hanoi University of Technology Internal, RMIT University, Club Faculty of Vietnam Institute of Information Technology, FPT Software Joint Stock Company – FSOFT, representatives of the Ministry of Information and Communications and Ministry of Education and Training and delegates.

* “Solutions to improve cooperation effectiveness between higher education institutions and enterprises in training highly qualified ICT human resources” with the participation of representatives from the Research Group of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (Hutech), Hanoi University of Science and Technology, Nguyen Tat Thanh University; Representatives/Leaders from VNPT, Viettel, Founder Got It and delegates.

Within the framework of the event, the signing ceremony of cooperation agreement between higher education institutions and ICT business partners was also held. At the same time, the exhibition with the participation of 15 universities and 10 large enterprises using ICT human resources took place during the entire day of March 30, 2019. This is an opportunity for businesses to advertise and introduce universities, students about technology, products, potentials and recruitment needs, job opportunities, internship opportunities, as well as specific requirements for students graduating in ICT fields. It is also an opportunity for universities to have opportunities to introduce to employers and learners about training capacity, scientific research and ability to meet labor market demands. Information about vocational guidance, enrollment, training programs in the ICT sector, employment support for graduates, vocational guidance for students was also provided during the event.
