On May 29, 2024, at the PTIT’s Ho Chi Minh City facility, Deputy Minister of Information and Communications Phan Tam had a working session with the leadership of the Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology (PTIT). During the working session, the PTIT’s leadership reported and listened to guidance from the Deputy Minister regarding the establishment of a branch in Ho Chi Minh City.

 

Attending the working session with Deputy Minister Phan Tam were Pro. Dr. Tu Minh Phuong – Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the Council of the Institute, Assoc Pro, Dr. Dang Hoai Bac – Director of the Institute, Mr. Tan Hanh – Deputy Director of the Institute, in charge of the facility in Ho Chi Minh city, Assoc Pro. Dr. Tran Quang Anh – Chairman of the Trade Union, Deputy Director of the Institute along with the leadership of functional departments of the Institute, faculties of training 2 and functional departments under the Institute’s facility.

On behalf of the leadership of the Institute, Associate Professor, Dr. Dang Hoai Bac, Director of the Institute, shared: “It is a great honor and privilege to be received by Deputy Minister Phan Tam at the PTIT’s Ho Chi Minh city facility, thank you for your keen guidance and suggestions to expedite the establishment of a branch in Ho Chi Minh City”.

Assoc Pro. Dr. Dang Hoai Bac, Director of the Institute, spoke at the working session.

During the working session, Dr. Tan Hanh – Deputy Director of the Institute, in charge of the facility in TP. Ho Chi Minh, reported in detail to the Deputy Minister on the preparations for establishing a branch of the Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology in Ho Chi Minh City, from developing the project to obtaining approval from the People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh city, drafting for submission to the Ministry of Education & Training for approval of the policy. Dr. Tan Hanh stated that the PTIT’s facility had urgently carried out tasks to complete the transformation from an organizational model of the PTIT’s facility to a branch, drafting documents when the branch is established and operational, especially drafting regulations on the organization and operation of the branch with high consensus from the Party Committee and key officials of both the facility and the Institute.

 

After hearing the report, Deputy Minister Phan Tam made contributions and provided guidance to the leadership of the Institute. In particular, he requested an expedited and detailed plan for establishing the branch to be able to launch it during the opening ceremony for the 2024-2025 academic year.

In addition, Deputy Minister Phan Tam also listened to the opinions of officials from the Institute’s facility regarding its development direction into a branch. He requested that each official enhance their capacity and work quality to align with the branch’s future development strategy, especially towards the Institute’s development strategy until 2027. The Deputy Minister directed that the new model must create conditions for the facility to exceed planned targets during the 2024-2027 period as well as those of the Institute. He also emphasized personnel work, stating that besides meeting regulatory standards, there must be dedication to the Institute’s development, with specific action plans, being among the most outstanding officials.

 

Taking into account Deputy Minister Phan Tam’s opinions and guidance, Pro. Dr. Tu Minh Phuong – Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the Council of the Institute also affirmed the need to quickly complete the establishment of a branch in Ho Chi Minh city and provided a direction for further strengthening the Institute’s facility in terms of scale, quality, faculty, and student body.

With Deputy Minister Phan Tam’s guidance, the working session provided strong motivation for the Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology to expedite the establishment of a branch, enhance teaching and training activities, and contribute to further strengthening the institute’s brand and providing high-quality human resources for society.
