FOSSASIA SUMMIT 2024 took place at the Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology (PTIT) from April 8th to 10th, and it left a remarkable and unexpectedly successful mark. The event proved to have a significant appeal to the global technology community, drawing nearly 6,000 participants from 60 countries, double the initial expectations.
The event brought together key players in the technology industry, including openEuler (Huawei), Google, Oracle/MySQL, and ARM Holdings. Additionally, it featured over 200 renowned speakers from around the world, with a notable representation of more than 30 Vietnamese speakers.
Frank Karlitschek, CEO of Nextcloud, emphasized the unique contribution of Vietnamese speakers to the summit, highlighting the exceptional development and potential of the Vietnamese technology community through their professional presentations.
Furthermore, the summit provided a valuable platform for students and technology enthusiasts in Vietnam to gain exposure to new technologies and directly engage with representatives from multinational companies and industry experts. It served as an opportunity for collaboration, skill development, and career advancement in the field of Information Technology.
In particular, within the framework of the FOSSASIA Summit 2024, the organizers also collaborated with Devfolio and sponsor Chainlink to organize a Web3 application and blockchain technology Hackathon. The overall winner was PTIT_Connector, a representative from PTIT.
Anton Shepilov, Chief Technology Officer of LINAGORA, expressed admiration for Vietnamese students’ early exposure to major ICT events and commended the professionalism in organizing the conference.
Beyond its significance in Information Technology, the FOSSASIA Summit 2024 also showcased Vietnam’s position in the international community. The success of the conference has generated positive impacts and opened new opportunities for the Vietnamese technology sector.
