The artificial intelligence event “AI Now: Academic & Career” organized online by Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology (PTIT) and Naver Corporation took place on October 30. Attending the opening ceremony were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Quang Anh – Vice President of PTIT, Dr. Dang Thieu Ngan – Director of External Relations of NAVER Vietnam and the speakers participating in the program.

The wave of AI application leads to the “thirst” for IT human resources in the field of AI in the world in general and in Vietnam in particular. Accordingly, AI – future technology is considered as one of the most core factors in the 4.0 technology revolution and digital transformation in Vietnam.

Tran Trung Hieu, CEO of recruitment technology platform TopCV, said that the supply of AI human resources in Vietnam can only meet 10% of the recruitment demand of the domestic market, not to mention the foreign market still has many opportunities. festival.

Experts also shared the same standpoint and said that the connection and cooperation in research and training among state agencies, organizations, businesses (DN), IT training schools in Vietnam and internationally have being a step in the right direction, to gradually master AI technology, create high quality AI products “Make in Vietnam” and reach out to the world.

In order to promote high-quality AI human resource training and future technology research activities, since August 2020, Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology and Naver Corporation have cooperated to build an international research lab on AI and data. multimedia data – an activity within Naver’s “Global AI Research and Development Belt” project.

Up to this point, three out of five cooperative research projects between the two sides have entered the final stage. It is expected that by the end of 2021, the achieved results can be announced. Other activities of Labs are also actively promoted such as training high-quality human resources, awarding scholarships to research and work in Belt countries, etc., in which, the seminar “AI Now: Academic & Career” The upcoming October 30th event is one of them. This is also the event following the success of “AI Now: Clova” conducted by Naver in Korea in May.

Sharing the event, Ms. Chae Seon Ju – General Director of Communications – External Relations & International Cooperation of Naver Group expressed her hope: “The event will be a bridge to share experiences between experts in the field. As head of AI Lab PTIT x Naver, Assoc. Dr. Pham Van Cuong said: “Although the conference “AI Now: Academic & Career” was held for the first time, it has hit the focus and essential needs of the AI industry in Vietnam and around the world. Because high-quality human resources are currently very scarce and the field of AI is too open, it requires a lot of investment in research, exploitation and application in daily life.

The conference will take place at 8:30 am – 5:00 pm on October 30, including 3 main parts: discussion on the future of AI (The Future of AI) and the need for high-quality human resources; How does the discussion begin with the AI industry?; Webinar applying AI in life and operating businesses – typical Vietnamese representatives.

The entire event was broadcast live on the event’s official website, Youtube channel of PTIT and FB Naver Vietnam.

In addition, Naver is building a Programming Center in Ho Chi Minh City and has a process of recruiting more than 300 IT Devs who will work in Vietnam for projects and services of Naver and Naver Labs. This is the corporation’s largest recruitment in a country of more than 90 million people, showing the Naver leadership’s special interest and belief in AI human resources in Vietnam.
