On 18/03/2024, at the Hanoi training campus, representatives of the Board of Directors of the Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology (PTIT) had a meeting with representatives of VMO Holdings Technology Joint Stock Company (VMO) and The Hashgraph Association (THA) startup ecosystem to discuss the “Deep Tech Venture” program. 

Attending the talk, PTIIT was delighted to welcome representatives from VMO America, VMO Academy and THA delegation led by Mr. Kamal Youssefi – THA President. On the Academy side, representatives of the delegation include: Assoc. TS. Dr. Tran Quang Anh – Deputy Director of PTIT, Dr. Dr. Do Trung Anh – Deputy Head of Science and Technology Department, PhD. Dr. Nguyen Viet Hung – Director of Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center – PTIT IEC.

VMO Holdings is a reputable information technology company established in 2012, providing Web-app, Mobile-app, IoT and AI development solutions for both B2B and B2C. The company is headquartered in Hanoi, Vietnam and operates in many international markets such as the US, Japan, and Thailand. Recently, in September 2023, the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to establish the Startup Cooperation Center on Climate Change – CCE Hub – also marked the cooperation between the US Department of State, Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology (PTIT) and VMO Holdings Technology Joint Stock Company.

THA is an independent nonprofit focused on building a vibrant innovation ecosystem for startups, businesses, and governments to create a digital future that is reliable, secure, and empowered for all. THA defines its mission as accelerating the growth of the Hashgraph ecosystem by supporting startups, enterprises, and other organizations to build digital applications and solutions.

The “Deep Tech Venture Program” model has been implemented by THA in collaboration with the Saudi Ministry of Investment (MISA) in the form of Deep Tech Studio with a capital of up to 250 million USD, aiming to stimulate the development of Web3 technology, AI and many other advanced technologies such as distributed ledger technology (DLT), Virtual reality, robotics and quantum computing. Since then, Deep Tech studio is expected to support the launch of more than 500 new companies from 2024 to 2028. The Deep Tech Program not only promotes the development of the deep tech ecosystem in the Middle East, but also plays an important role in driving the thriving digital economy in Saudi Arabia.

In addition to supporting the development of technology research, THA also emphasized that the Deep Tech Program will support start-up projects from business licensing, strategies to bring products to market, legal issues to connecting with stakeholders, etc strategic partners and investors.

As a connector, VMO also expressed its trust and willingness to support so that the Deep Tech Venture program can grow and replicate.

At the end of the talk, representatives from VMO & THA visited the campus as well as teaching facilities at the Academy.
