Implemented from 2020 to the end of 2023, recently, the project “MOnitoring Trends In Vietnamese graduates Employment” (MOTIVE) was jointly conducted by the Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology and 8 universities in Vietnam. The implementation by 5 organizations in Europe has officially ended and been rated as Very good by the European Union Commission.

The international project “MOnitoring Trends in Vietnamese graduates Employment” (MOTIVE) aims to research the employment status of graduates in Vietnam and promote cooperation between universities and businesses. The project also aims to strengthen the connection between students and businesses to improve job opportunities for graduates. The project is funded by the European Union’s Erasmus+ program.

9 member universities of the MOTIVE project have deployed 2 rounds of post-graduate student surveys in 2021 and 2022 with more than 30,000 students surveyed. Through that, the project has made a number of recommendations for the Ministry of Education and Training, universities and students with the aim of improving employment opportunities for Vietnamese students after graduation.

In addition, the project organized a total of 14 seminars, conferences, seminars and events, and also developed a proposal to establish a Center for Monitoring the Employment of Graduates. This is a consulting unit for the Ministry of Education and Training to track graduates, using data on employment of graduates for policy planning.

Currently, the project has expanded its network of stakeholders to include 22 universities and colleges, 258 businesses, and 29,742 accounts of graduates. 106 jobs have been provided through the project’s website platform at: http://news.motive.edu.vn. After completion, the project has also been given the highest rating of Very good by the European Commission. This evaluation result is a recognition of the efforts of all units participating in the project over the past time.

It is known that in 2021, the project “Opportunities for the young and graduates’ employability in Vietnam” (VOYAGE) – MOTIVE’s predecessor project-organized by the International Board of Global Actors and Business for Sustainability, Entreps (partner of the United Nations) was voted as one of the 300 best sustainable practical projects in the world out of a total of 5,000 projects from 126 countries.

In the coming time, to ensure the sustainability of the project and promote the effectiveness of the project for former graduates, PTIT will continue to organize and implement a plan to promote the results of MOTIVE project, to expand the business network and future alumni community, including main activities such as:

  1. Continue to disseminate and promote the project’s research results at forums, seminars and through PTIT’s online media channels;
  2. Continue to expand the network of students, businesses and member universities on the Graduate Tracking Center platform and information portal at: http://news.motive.edu.vn
  3. Organize the annual Career Day and other events for students, businesses and start-ups.
  4. Continue to cooperate with member universities of the MOTIVE project to maintain and develop the Vietnam Graduate Student Tracking Center.
