On 03/8/2017, a scientific symposium on optimal mathematics, parallel algorithms, graphs and ICT application was organized at the Hanoi establishment of Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology. The symposium featured mathematical specialists from Boston University and Northeastern University of the United States as well as academics of the Institute.
At the symposium, experts and academics of the Institute spotlighted optimal mathematics, parallel algorithms, graphs and ICT application.
Dr. Alina Ene, an expert in research on algorithm analysis and design, combinatorial optimization, and machine learning currently working for Boston University discussed with the Institute academics about a number of algorithms for parallel computing following MapReduce/Spark model and examples in graph algorithms, clustering and optimization.
The next on the agenda is present of Dr. Nguyen Le Huy, who is expert in algorithm analysis and design and machine learning research currently working at Northeastern University. Dr. Nguyen Le Huy communicated about algorithms for stream processing, some basic algorithms and applications in optimization, and linear regression, singular value decomposition.
The symposium paved the way for lecturers and researchers of the Institute to share and gain a deeper insight into optimal mathematics and its modern applications for ICT. This is also an opportunity for the Institute to expand information exchange and cooperation with worldwide reputable universities while enhancing its prestige and quality of training and research.
